So Governor Spitzer saw a protitute....is this a big deal?

It's a damn funny thing. Two consensual adults get together and decide to fuck and it's no biggie, but as soon as money is exchanged. it becomes a fucking crime.

Gov. Spitzer was caught arranging to see a hooker at a Washington DC hotel and apparently they got together, spent 2 hours together and that was it. He wasn't making unwanted advances in an airplane restroom or sexually harassing anybody. Just got together for a quickie, albeit a damned expensive one ($4,300).

Now I'm not coming out in favor of prostitution-nor have I ever visited a prostitute. However, the fact is this is a personal issue and has nothing to do with his ability to be governor. This has as much to do with his fitness as governor as a getting a blow job has to do with President Clinton's fitness as President. In other words, absolutely fucking nothing.

This is a private matter between Gov. Spitzer and his family and should be left that way. There are some legal issue that, of course, need to be dealt with, and they may or may not impact his ability to stay in office. However his fitness to be the Governor is not in doubt...except to the usual bunch of delusional right dingers and faux news.

Now as to the whole prostitution thing. People have always fucked and continue to fuck for a variety of reasons, not just love or to have kids, as repuke jeezus freaks would like. Prostituting one's self can take a variety of forms. Nevada has an interesting idea, allowing prostitution to take place in legalized brothels that are under a variety of health regulations. Perhaps if that were done in other states and prostitution were put in to the proper perspective, cases like this would be put into the proper perspective. Hell, the taxes and license fees that states could take in would be a definite boon to their economies.

Leave Gov. Spitzer alone and let him deal with this. There are many more important issues at hand including the illegal and immoral Iraq war, and selecting which candidate will get a chance to beat the hell out of John McKahan in the upcoming election.
